8407 kitchen bar Ratings and Reviews
The chicken enchilada was very dry. The sides that come with it were also dry (rice and beans) which made it hard to eat.
Service was quite poor as we could not get the attention of waiters. After waiting for a long time one of us had to get up and go to them to request things they should have brought already such as small plates for appetizers, bread and butter, etc. Will not return.
Great, cozy and romantic atmosphere. Mussels were great. My date's Oyster Po Boy was delicious, but my crab cake sandwich was nothing to write home about. Too much sauce, too many fillers, a bit too salty for my tastes. Not BAD, just not as great as the other dishes we had ordered. Beautiful ambiance and great staff though! And plenty of wines to choose from.
I've been to 8407 KB on a number of occasions. I've always liked the food but my one complaint was that the Sunday brunch menu was somewhat limited. Well they have fixed that problem, and it is now my new favorite brunch spot. They now offer a $30 brunch that includes an appetizer, a main course, a dessert and your choice of a mimosa, bloody mary or orange juice. There are many choices in each category. I had the beet and goat cheese salad, crabcake benedict, and key lime pie. My friends had the deviled eggs, shrimp and grits and the bread pudding. Everyone raved about the food! I'll be going back soon.
The live music was enough to make me leave the bar! Fortunately, we had left the bar for the upstairs before they started.
More vegetarian éntres, please. Try getting creative. Good veggie does not mean drowning the dish in heavy cream. think outside the French Classical box.
We have enjoyed this place several times. I remembered a cocktail on the menu some years ago. The server could not recall it but they tried to reconstruct it from my memory. It was not the same but it was also very good and I appreciated the customizing. The food has always been very good. This time we both had salmon with a lemon butter sauce that cried out to be mopped up with the french bread.
We like the Kitchen Bar and go there for special occasions. We had an early reservation because the normal times were booked for Valentines Day. The wait person was inexperienced but friendly and tried her best. We were rushed and had just gotten started on our appetizer when they brought our entrees. Our best experiences here have been sitting at the bar for a more casual dinner or appetizers. Don't think I'd go back for Valentines Day, and any other special day since they seem to jack the prices up and give you less options than usual.
Started with drinks at the very friendly bar staffed with seriously creative and dedicated bartenders. Lively conversations going on between other patrons. Moved upstairs to the comfortable dining room. Service remained excellent. My scallops were exceptional. Overall, great experience in an area not known for its dining offerings.
I went with my two children (13 & 10 yrs old) to meet my parents and close friend for Valentine's Day brunch. The food was good and extremely filling. I thought the flourless chocolate cake was delightful but too rich (it's supposed to be...so enjoy chocolate lovers) but collectively we agree that the crab cakes, grits, shrimp, steak, and grilled chicken sandwich were delicious. I would recommend this place.
